TriZetto and Cognizant provide software solutions to healthcare providers and health insurers, including revenue cycle management services to physician practices. In connection, TriZetto and Cognizant handle vast amounts of confidential and sensitive Private Information, including names, addresses, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, billing information, health histories, provider information, and other health insurance information. On October 2, 2025, TriZetto identified suspicious activity on its web portal, which it later determined was unauthorized actors who had been active on their web portal since at least November 2024. On November 28, 2025, TriZetto learned that Private Information had been obtained.
The class action alleges that TriZetto and Cognizant’s conduct violated common law and state privacy law, including the Massachusetts Right to Privacy Law.
The case is Madoff v. Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation et al., No.: 2:26-cv-02634, currently pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
