In this session, the panelists will discuss the importance of portfolio monitoring and some of the potential fraud risks inherent in investments in securities other than publicly traded U.S. securities, such as securities listed on foreign (non-U.S.) exchanges, private investments such as PIPE and private equity, antitrust, and crypto currency. We will look at the banking crisis of 2023 and the impact it has had on the markets and public pension plans. The panelists will explain the litigation options that may be available for plans to recover damages when these investments fail due to fraud or other malfeasance.
