On September 2, 2026, the Honorable Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California entered an order granting preliminary approval of a proposed class action settlement in the Natera, Inc. Consumer Litigation, Case No. 4:23-cv-06342-YGR. The settlement resolves claims that Natera misrepresented the prices patients would pay for its Panorama noninvasive prenatal tests and Horizon genetic carrier screening tests, including allegations that patients were charged more than the amounts represented by Natera’s pricing and billing practices.
The proposed settlement provides for a $9.5 million common settlement fund, without an admission of liability by Natera. Under the proposed settlement, eligible class members who provide proof of payment will receive a portion of their out-of-pocket costs above the applicable invoice threshold for their Panorama or Horizon tests. Class members without proof of payment may receive up to $50, subject to the terms of the settlement and the available funds.
The Court conditionally certified a settlement class consisting generally of individuals who had Panorama or Horizon tests performed between July 10, 2019 and September 2, 2026 and were billed more than the applicable threshold amounts for those tests. The Court also provisionally appointed Wolf Popper LLP and Berman Tabacco as class counsel and the Plaintiff as class representative.
The Court-approved notice will provide class members with information about the proposed settlement, their rights, and the procedures for submitting claims, objecting, or requesting exclusion. The Court has scheduled a hearing to consider final approval of the settlement for March 2, 2027, at 9:00 a.m. Pacific Time. The settlement remains subject to final approval by the Court.
