Settlement Reached in Doctor’s Best Glucosamine Sulfate Consumer Litigation

Wolf Popper LLP serves as counsel for the plaintiff and a proposed class of consumers in litigation against Doctor’s Best, Inc., involving allegations that Doctor’s Best products labeled as containing “Glucosamine Sulfate” (the “Products”) do not actually contain Glucosamine Sulfate. Doctor’s Best denies the allegations.

The firm is pleased to announce that the parties have reached a settlement that provides Class Members with monetary relief for their purchases of these Products. Under the parties’ settlement agreement, Class Members without proof of purchase may receive a refund of five dollars ($5.00) for each Product purchased in the United States during the Class Period, subject to a five (5) packages per household maximum. Additionally, Class Members with proof of purchase may receive a refund of an amount equal to 60% of the purchase price for each Product purchased during the Class Period, subject to a twelve (12) packages per Household maximum. Doctor’s Best has also agreed to stop representing on any labels, marketing, or advertising materials that any Product it offers for sale contains Glucosamine Sulfate unless it actually contains Glucosamine Sulfate.

The Court is scheduled to hold a hearing to determine whether to preliminarily approve the settlement and send notice of its terms to Class Members. That hearing is scheduled for January 14, 2022 at 10:30 AM before Judge Josephine L. Staton of the United States District Court for the Central District of California, Ronald Reagan Federal Building and United States Courthouse, 411 W. Fourth St., Santa Ana, CA, 92701, Courtroom 10A, 10th Floor.
