Arbitration - Domestic and International

Wolf Popper and its attorneys have a long history of representing both domestic and international clients in arbitration proceedings in the U.S.

The Firm has expanded its practice to represent clients in both domestic and international forums.  The Firm’s attorneys have represented an array of global clients in complex business disputes, shareholder transactions, and multi-billion dollar transactions before numerous arbitration panels organized under the arbitration rules of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), American Arbitration Association (AAA), and ad-hoc UNCITRAL proceedings.

For example, In a commercial dispute, Wolf Popper defended a global corporation against a claim seeking damages in excess of $100 million for an alleged breach of contract.  The case was in arbitration hearings in New York for several weeks.  Wolf Popper successfully reduced the amount of potential damages 99% before settlement.  A Wolf Popper attorney prevailed in an ICC arbitration requiring a majority shareholder to sell shares valued at over $1.1 billion to his clients.  In another matter, the same attorney, along with co-lead counsel, obtained a $6 million arbitration award on behalf of a construction company client.

The international scope of the Firm’s practice is complemented by the fact that the Firm has an affiliate office in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Wolf Popper P.S.C., and Wolf Popper employs an attorney admitted to practice in Spain in its New York headquarters.  Moreover, a number of the Firm's attorneys and support staff are fully bilingual in Spanish and English.  Attorneys and professional staff also speak other languages, including French, Ukrainian, Russian, Polish, Albanian, and Shanghainese; and the Firm has access to interpreters in all languages.
