Wolf Popper LLP Appointed Co-Lead Counsel in Securities Litigation on Behalf of Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc Shareholders
On May 5, 2009 U.S. District Judge Deborah Batts appointed the Public Employees' Retirement System of Mississippi ("MissPERS") as co-lead plaintiff, and its counsel, Wolf Popper LLP and Labaton Sucharow LLP, as co-lead counsel in a securities class action brought on behalf of investors in the Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc ("RBS"). MissPERS is serving as co-lead plaintiff with the Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (MassPRIM), and MassPRIM's counsel, Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, has been appointed as co-lead counsel.
The consolidated action is pending in the Southern District of New York, and is captioned as In re Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc Securities Litigation, Case No. 09-cv-300 (DAB).
Co-Lead counsel are in the process of conducting a further investigation into the claims and will file a consolidated amended complaint shortly.
