Wolf Popper LLP Appointed Co-Lead Counsel in Securities Litigation on Behalf of Amedisys Shareholders
Wolf Popper LLP was appointed, on October 22, 2010, co-lead counsel on behalf of its clients, lead plaintiffs the State of Mississippi Public Employee’s Retirement System and Puerto Rico Teachers Retirement System, in Bach v. Amedisys, Inc., pending on the Central District of Louisiana (10-CV-00395). The action against Amedisys, a home health care company, alleges that Amedisys misrepresented its financial statements and history of success in securing revenue from Medicare billings. Amedisys is currently the subject of Securities and Exchange Commission, Senate Finance Committee, and U.S. Department of Justice investigations. Wolf Popper is currently in the process of preparing an amended complaint in the action.
Wolf Popper LLP Files for Lead Plaintiff in the Amedisys Inc. Class Action on Behalf of Mississippi Public Employees’ Retirement System and Puerto Rico Teachers Retirement System
On August 9, 2010, Wolf Popper LLP filed a motion to appoint Mississippi Public Employees’ Retirement System and Puerto Rico Teachers Retirement System Lead Plaintiff on behalf of a class of investors in Amedisys Inc. common stock. The action alleges that Amedisys and certain of its executives inflated the company’s reported revenues and earnings by knowingly violating U.S. government billing regulations for home health-care visits, while at the same time representing to investors that Amedisys was in strict compliance with government regulations. The action is pending in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana (C.A. No. 3:10-cv-395).
