In re TJX Companies Retail Security Breach Litigation
Wolf Popper LLP was designated by the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts to be co-lead counsel in this nationwide consumer class action, In re TJX Companies Retail Security Breach Litigation. The suit sought damages for millions of consumers whose personal information was stolen. The action involved allegations that TJX breached its duties owed to its customers by failing to maintain adequate computer data security. The Court approved the settlement of the case on July 15, 2008, stated that Plaintiffs’ counsel achieved an “excellent settlement” for the consumer class, that they “have been very creative” and performed “a wonderful job.”
