Emily Madoff is a senior partner in Wolf Popper LLP. She is a graduate of Connecticut College (B.A., 1973), and Northeastern University School of Law (J.D., 1979). She is admitted to the Bars of the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Ms. Madoff has been a partner in Wolf Popper since 1990.
Ms. Madoff practices in the area of general commercial law, and has represented many international corporations including Aeroflot Russian Airlines, the Xinhua News Agency, as well as several missions to the United Nation. Ms. Madoff also represents Zurab Tsereteli, President to the Russian Academy of Art. Mr. Tsereteli's 100-foot monument To the Struggle Against World Terrorism, a gift from the people of Russia, President Vladimir Putin and the artist, is located in Bayonne, New Jersey at the entrance to New York Harbor. The monument was dedicated on September 11, 2006, the fifth anniversary of the terrorist attacks. (See www.911monument.com) Mr. Tsereteli's monument, Good Defeats Evil, stands on the front grounds of the United Nations Headquarters.
In addition, Ms. Madoff has applies her commercial expertise to consumer fraud and consumer financial services class action litigation. She has assisted in the prosecution of consumer class actions against, for example, American Bankers Insurance Company, Concord E.F.S., Paypal, TJX Companies, Inc. and Google, Inc..
Ms. Madoff frequently writes about legal issues for various publications. Her article "Raising the Bar on Professional Conduct: A Primer on the New Rules" appeared in the February 2, 2009 special supplement on New Partners in the New York Law Journal.
